CEMS Systems CEMS Design & Integration

At AMP-Cherokee,
CEMS design and integration starts with your permit requirements and compliance/process performance goals. From sampling systems and conditioners to analyzer arrayss, we configure your system to perform. Our engineers and technicians have built CEMS for a wide variety of industries to meet many emissions and process criteria.

Ease of Operation & Maintenance

AMP-Cherokee’s Walk-in Extractive CEMS can be customized for wall-mount or instrument rack components. Our walk-in shelters are available for either general purpose or explosion proof applications. The local touchscreen HMI interface and plug-and-play functional design sets a new standard in reliability and ease of operation.

System Redundancy

System uptime is protected, with numerous redundant sampling features available as follows:

Redundant SQL databases (standard)

Redundant local and remote data logging (standard)

Redundant sample, blowback, and calibration tubing (standard)

Redundant secondary filtration (standard)

Redundant pre-cooler (standard)

Redundant analyzers used as standby or back-up (optional)

Redundant monitoring utilizing integrated PEMS module (optional)

Parameters Monitored

AMP-Cherokee CEM systems can be configured to monitor for one or all of the following:

• NOx • SO2 • CO2 • O2 • CO • THC • TRS • Hg • H2S

• HCl • HF • NH3 • Opacity • Volumetric Flow • Moisture • Particulate

Background

There are three general types of CEMS as follows:

In-situ: the measurement is performed in the stack or duct

Direct Extractive: sample pump draws sample from the stack and delivers it to the CEMS

Dilution Extractive: a precision eductor extracts a sample from the stack while diluting it and then delivers the diluted sample to the CEMS

Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS)

A fourth type of emissions monitoring called Predictive Emissions Monitoring (PEMS) has emerged in the last decade which is a software based technology that uses sensor inputs from the process unit (boiler, turbine, etc.) to predict pollutant emissions. All four types of emissions monitoring have been approved by EPA and state regulatory agencies and are widely used throughout the United States.

Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS)

AMP-Cherokee is one of just a few CEMS integrators that offers our own Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS) software, ProLogix. ProLogix is the only DAHS on the market which has an integrated PEMS module that can be used as follows:

Quality Check on CEMS

Redundant monitoring to CEMS

Replacement for CEMS (if PS 16 is met)

ProLogix DAHS Features:

Allen Bradley PLC System Controller

Redundant SQL databases

Local & Remote Data Logging

Automated Report Generation

Automated Report Distribution via email

Automated System Alerts via email

Report formats in excel, pdf, and html

Integrated PEMS module

Our DAS Pro-Logix 60 software can be integrated across your entire CEMS monitoring network and provide you with process performance measurements in addition to typical emissions monitoring data. Standard features include full network and remote communications, assignable operator controls, data redundancy and an HMI system interface.
