Heated CEM Probe & Filter Boxes

The CEM probe and filter box are ideal for conducting gaseous pollutant sampling. The probe can be hung from an existing monorail for traversing or mounted on a stationary stand for single point measurements.

The arrangement includes:
* 20-micron In-Stack, Sintered Filter
* Heated Stainless Steel Probe (3/8” ID, standard length is 4’)
* Heated Out-of-Stack Filter Compart ment (Balston glass fiber filter)
* Mixing T-fitting for Calibrate/Sample
* Dual Station Heat Controller
Power Requirements 115 Volts AC
Shipping Size & Weight 2 Packages / 35 lbs

Helpful Hint Inconel, high temperature sampling probes are available, but without the in-stack, sintered filter.

Baldwin Model 31 Portable Filter Probe
The Baldwin Model 31 probe/filter assembly incorporates a self-regulating, heated out of stack filter and probes assembly. The filter housing is manufactured from either stainless steel or Teflon coated steel and the design allows for quick replacement of the filter element. Various filter element materials are available to meet different sampling requirements. This unit is supplied with a 3/8-inch tube connection for sample gas extraction and a 1/4-inch tube connection for calibration gas injection. The assembly can be mounted to the sampling port via 4 or 6-inch flange adapters, or suspended from a monorail for traversing requirements. Optional automatic blowback equipment is available.

Gas Connections

3/8-inch tube (sample),
1/4-inch (calibration)

Probe Composition

1-inch OD SS (standard);
Teflon, glass (optional)

Filter Composition

Sintered SS (standard);
ceramic, Teflon (optional)

Power Requirement

110VAC/60 Hz

Filter and Accessories = 20x10x10 – 12 lbs

Apex In-stack Probe/Filter Assembly
The Apex probe/filter assembly includes a heated 3/8-inch stainless steel probe liner (5/8-inch OD sheath) coupled with an in-stack sintered stainless steel filter element. A stainless steel “tee” is attached to the outlet of the probe for sample gas extraction and calibration gas injection. The probe is powered via an included single-channel heat controller and umbilical.

In-Stack Dilution Probe & Panel

The combination of an EPM Model 797 In-Stack Dilution Probe and a Cherokee Dilution Panel are ideal for conducting gaseous pollutant sampling from sources where moisture content or pollutant concentrations are too high for accurate measurement. Also, dilution should be used whenever highly water soluble pollutants are measured on a dry, extractive basis (ie HCl via gas filter correlation). The system effectively reduces water vapor to low enough levels that a heated sample line is unnecessary.

The arrangement includes:
* Dilution Probe Assembly
* 100’ of Unheated Teflon Line
* Cherokee Dilution Panel
* (2) Glass Dilution Orifice and Graphite Ferrules

Power Requirements None
(115 Volts AC if optional probe heater is used)
Shipping Size & Weight 2 Packages / 50 lbs

Helpful Hint Various dilution ratios can be achieved by using different dilution orifices. Please consult you Cherokee representative on the proper orifice and dilution ratio. Also, experience indicates that having a spare orifice on-site is beneficial. Please note that 90 psi of diluent is required for operation of the system.
